About the1stbook

What it is

the1stbook is a small site for anyone who wants a good book but doesn't know where to start. Describe what you're in the mood for, or pick a genre or two, and you'll get three tailored recommendations, each with a short, opinionated take on why it might be your next read.

How the site makes money

the1stbook is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. When you follow a link to Amazon and make a qualifying purchase, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. That's what keeps the site running. Recommendations are not influenced by which books earn more.
